For some, the food at the fair is one of the best reasons to
come; but, from cotton candy to the usual hotdog, it’s hard to find
a healthy but delicious meal.
The Buffalo Burgers stand just so happens to be one of those
rare, great tasting, healthy burger joints. It may not be your
average everyday burger because the main ingredient is buffalo and
not beef, but with it being 95 to 97 percent lean meat it’s
definitely a great choice.
The owner of this splendid little place is Rich Randolph, born
and raised in Havre. Randolph is a retired contractor who left the
business to pursue his enjoyable traveling experiences. He has been
touring with the fair for five years.
During the summer Randolph says he travels 13 states beginning
with Montana and ending in Arizona.
Randolph travels solo but says that he really enjoys it because
of the people.
“I always meet really nice people and I enjoy talking with them
and getting to know them,” he said added that Helena is one of best
places to travel because of the nice people.
“With the burgers being lean and very good they are excellent
for your health, and that’s why the people love to try them —
Buffalo is the leanest red meat available,” explained Randolph.
The Buffalo Burgers stand has more than just burgers. The prices
range from $1 to $6.50. The menu has many items, such as the
popular buffalo burger starting at just $3.75, the kid-friendly
curly fries for $3, nachos for $4, hot wings with a choice of mild
or hot sauce for $4, and even a smoked turkey leg $5. There is a
lot of amazing food to choose from so everyone is sure to find
something they like.
“I open at 11 a.m. just in time for lunch, and this place stays
open all day until the carnival is over,” said Randolph.
If you come and indulge in one of these great burgers, you are
sure to find a friendly service and leave with a pleased and packed
stomach.
