The Townsend Fall Fest Car Show is revving up for another unforgettable year, showcasing one of Montana’s largest and most beloved displays of classic and custom automobiles. Held annually on Sunday during the Townsend Fall Fest, this event draws hundreds of car enthusiasts and spectators to Broadway Street, aka Montana Hwy 12,for a day of polished chrome, roaring engines and small-town camaraderie. The event is October 3-5, 2025, in Townsend.
In 2024, the car show featured more than 320 vehicles, ranging from vintage hot rods and restored classics to modern custom builds. This year, organizers expect an even larger turnout. The event’s reputation has grown steadily, earning recognition as “Best Car Show of the Year” from several state auto clubs, making it a must-see for gearheads and casual fans alike.
Participants travel from across Montana and neighboring states to display their vehicles, share restoration stories and connect with other collectors. For many, the car show is as much about community as it is about cars. Attendees enjoy an up-close look at meticulously maintained and lovingly restored vehicles, while chatting with owners eager to talk shop and share their passion for automotive history.
Prizes and awards add to the excitement, with categories recognizing everything from “Best Classic Car” to “People’s Choice.” Whether you’re drawn to the sleek lines of a ‘60s muscle car or the charm of a vintage pickup, there’s something for everyone.
The car show is also paired with other Sunday traditions during Fall Fest. The Volunteer Fire Department Pancake Breakfast fuels attendees for a morning of browsing cars and chatting with owners, while the Broadwater Chamber of Commerce Fall Decoration Contest transforms downtown Townsend into an autumn showcase.
Proceeds from car show registrations directly support the Rotary Club of Townsend’s community initiatives, funding scholarships, youth programs and local projects throughout the year.
For participants, registration is simple and open to all makes and models. Registration begins either online August 1st or register up to the morning of the show in person, starting at 7:00 AM. Spectators enjoy free admission, making it a perfect Sunday outing for families and car lovers alike.
