ALBERTON, Mont. — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and Frontier West will begin work on a project that will replace the westbound bridge over the Clark Fork River on Interstate 90 (I-90) near the Cyr Interchange, about five miles west of Alberton.
During the week of November 2, crews will begin building crossovers to accommodate two-way traffic on the eastbound side of the interstate while the new bridge is being constructed. Motorists should expect single-lane closures while the crossovers are being built.
Crews will return in spring 2027, weather and other unforeseen factors permitting, to begin replacing the structure. During construction, motorists should expect reduced speeds and both westbound and eastbound traffic traveling on the eastbound side of I-90. The on- and off-ramps at Exit 70 will remain open throughout construction. Temporary closures of the Clark Fork River may be necessary during removal of the current structure.
