The Lewis and Clark Humane Society took in about 25 dogs since the start of 2025 and is hoping the public will decide this is a good time to adopt a new four-legged friend.
The Lewis and Clark Humane Society began construction on its dog kennels Monday through a $46,600 grant from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

The renovation is expected to take five weeks, making the area closed off to the public. The shelter will have limited ability to take in more animals during this time.
