BOZEMAN — The Montana Renewable Energy Association and Montana State University Sustainability Office will host the Montana Clean Energy Summit on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at the MSU campus in Bozeman, bringing together clean energy professionals, students, educators and community leaders to explore Montana’s evolving energy workforce and opportunities for collaboration.
The event begins at 8 a.m. and programming will be held in Inspiration Hall, located inside Norm Asbjornson Hall.
At 9 a.m., keynote speaker Stacie Peterson of the American Solar Grazing Association will highlight the growing trends of U.S. agrivoltaics, the intentional co-location of solar energy generation and agricultural production, and its potential to connect one of the state’s economic bedrocks with opportunities in clean energy.

Afternoon sessions will engage participants in practical conversations about Montana’s energy challenges and solutions, and potential implementation strategies for the recently published Governor’s Energy Task Force report.
“This year, the Montana Clean Energy Summit is designed to lay the building blocks of progress for distributed energy,” said Makenna Sellers, MREA executive director. “Agrivoltaics is one of the many creative innovations addressed. The expertise in the room on community solar, battery deployment, smart siting and permitting will help shape the next steps for the sector and align with the energy realities we face in the Big Sky State.”
MSU’s Sustainability Office Director Ben Miele will provide opening remarks. The Office of Sustainability is a sponsor of this event and will cover registration costs for interested students. For information about student registration, contact makenna@montanarenewables.org or benjamin.miele1@montana.edu.
“MSU is here to help our students succeed. That means preparing in the fields that will dominate tomorrow's economy. Renewable energy is one of those sectors that will become predominant,” Miele said. “We hope this event helps MSU students envision their careers and futures more clearly.”
Standard all-day access to the summit is $150. Visit montanarenewables.org/summit for details or register online.
The Montana Renewable Energy Association is a member-based nonprofit advancing renewable energy across Montana through education, advocacy and industry engagement.
