Since coming to Helena in 2006, Core Wellness Functional and Integrative Medicine has been offering residents an alternative approach to maintaining their health and vitality.
“Patients are tired of having little time with their doctor and being prescribed another drug for their problems,” said Jeff Roush, naturopathic physician, owner and medical director of Core Wellness. “Our patients are looking for a more complete, individualized approach with an emphasis on prevention.”
If you are looking for a new approach to primary care, the providers at Core Wellness can help. They will take a holistic approach to your health and wellness, always trying to address the root cause of your problem and not just treating symptoms. They also offer specialty care in women’s and men’s hormonal health, digestive issues, weight management and thyroid care.
Now when patients schedule an appointment, they will have the opportunity to see certified nurse practitioner Airica Rishavy, who has a doctorate of nursing practice and is the newest addition to the team alongside Dr. Roush and certified nurse practitioner Hailey Seedall.
“I’m very excited to have Airica join our team at Core Wellness. Her experience in primary care and internal medicine, combined with her enthusiasm around health, wellness and patient education, make her a great fit for many of our existing and new patients,” said Dr. Roush. “Her approach will be a tremendous option for patients who may have complex medical problems but are looking to improve their wellness through lifestyle modification and non-drug therapies.”
A practicing hospital nurse since 2009 and an EMT for the National Park Service before that, Rishavy earned her doctorate in nursing practice from Montana State University in Bozeman in 2022. She is trained in family medicine and women’s health, is well-versed in treating chronic conditions including Type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure and is eager to take a more holistic approach to treatment.
“I am drawn to functional medicine because I believe in getting to the root cause of the problem to find the true solution,” said Rishavy. “Integrating functional and conventional medicine for holistic care leads to the best health outcomes for a healthier, happier life.”
She is impressed by Dr. Roush and his staff’s approach to patient care, and she is eager to serve. “I was inspired to join Core Wellness because our healthcare values align. I believe that treating the whole person and individualized care are the keys to providing total mental and physical wellness,” said Rishavy. “I am excited to start pursuing my functional medicine certification to better serve our patient population.”
Rishavy will be seeing patients of all ages. “I have a calming manner, am a good listener and I’m looking forward to helping people reach their best health,” she said.
