Larry Anderson fired a 299 game, just missing a perfect 300, to lead all local bowlers in early-season league scores at Sleeping Giant Lanes. He finished with a 705 series. Marty Lyon was next, with a 290, and a high series of 757.
The top women’s scores were Erin Murphy, who rolled a 289 game and 607 series, and Adelle Swaim’s 659 series. Murphy’s 289 is the third-highest game by a local female kegler in local history, behind the Street sisters; Terri (Street) Kellogg’s 300 in 2000, and a 290 by Denice Street in 2002.
The rest of the men’s high scores include James Howes, 280-716; Tom Sroczyk, 279-738; George Cotton, 279-703; and Scott Stoner, 728. Leading the senior men were Bernie Briggeman and John Worster, with a pair of 268s, and Bill Hrouda at 267. Walt Blatherwick shot a 259.
Rounding out the top ladies performances were Misti Nettleton, 248; Danielle Bolan, 241-627; and Teri Johnson, 238-638. Marlene Knight paced the senior women, bowling a 211, followed by Diana Faulhaber and Deb Siewert, at 210 and 209.
