HELENA — The Helena Capital wrestling team swept both ends of a double dual against the Great Falls schools on Tuesday, beating vaunted Great Falls High 36-31, and CM Russell 35-24.

The Bruins were led by four double winners in the Bears' Den, highlighted by junior Cole Bradford at 145 pounds and senior Travis Schulte, with a pair of first period pins.

Also winning twice were sophomore all-stater Tyler Coddington — who returned to the mats after missing the first part of the season — with two major decisions (13-0, 11-0) at 120 and Seth Jensen at 205, with a forfeit and a 7-3 decision. Jensen improved to 16-3 on the year.

"I'm very proud of the team, we had guys fill out weights and they wrestled tough for the team," said coach Jeff Mahan, whose CHS  grapplers improve to 4-9 in dual matches. "It was good having Tyler Coddington back in the lineup and winning his matches by bonus points.

"Cole Bradford and Travis Schulte's two pins each in the first period helped solidify the team wins."

Also picking up wins for the Bruins were Nolan Dulaney (126), who won tech fall over GFH's No. 5 ranked Cache Hilliard 16-1, Lee Lambrecht (138), Dalton Snyder (160), Chance Lee (170), Josh Lee (182) and heavyweight Justin Jenks.

Capital's Noah Kovick was edged by No. 1 rated Kai Stewart (CMR), 4-3 at 138.

"Gotta give credit to Capital, they competed harder than we did and deserved to win," said GFH coach Steve Komac, whose Bison placed runnerup at last month's prestitgious CMR Holiday Classic in Great Falls.
