At the Class B State meet in Laurel, Jefferson High's Avery Stiles captured the high jump title with a launch of 6 feet, 6 inches. Stiles is JHS' first ever State high jump champion, according to a school official.

The Townsend boys placed 11th, while the JHS boys took 13th. On the girls side, the Lady Bulldogs finished 16th.

Kameron Rauser led the Bulldogs with a third-place finish in the 400-meter run (50.41) and fifth in the 200.

Teammate Tyson Racht finished fifth in both the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles, while Louis Ingalls was sixth in the 3,200. Broadwater also placed third in the 1,600 relay.

The Panthers' Nate Brunett took sixth in the 100.

Grace McDonnell garnered two all-state medals for Townsend, taking third in the girls 800 in 2:22.71 and fifth in the 1,600. Teammate Lainee Hill was sixth in the discus.

Boulder's girls placed sixth in the 400 relay.
