The Capital High doubles team of Rob Tabaracci and Kip Giddings placed third at the Missoula Tennis Invitational on Saturday, beating Flathead's A. Naglich and G. Regoli 8-3 in the boys No. 3 doubles consolation finals. In the No. 1 doubles third-place match, the Bruins' Alex Hanson and Brock Belcher lost to Ethan Violette and Sean Ramsbacher (Sentinel) 8-3, and finished fourth.

A pair of consolation finals doubles matches involving local netters were not completed, that being the boys No. 4 match between Helena's Ed Battershell-Corson/Cole Hasquet and Capital's Riley Lawrence/Tristan Carlson; and girls No. 3 Alex Althof/Brooklyn Lundberg (HHS) versus Shea Samson/Katie Culver (CHS).

Several local netters placed fifth, including Capital's No. 1, sisters Fiona and Bridget Powers, who defeated Samantha Ormesher and Shayla Johnson (Big Sky); girls No. 2 Rachel Lauf and Abbey Clarke over Kenzie Wingard and Molly Gray (Hellgate); and boys No. 2 Wyatt Fitz and Jonathan Ballard over Aaron Lucas and Nick Buenz (Flathead). No scores were available.

There was one fifth-place tilt with local talent not finished, that of CHS' No. 4 Erica Duncan and Karlee Bronson.

The singles play was not completed due to rain, and of the few matches played, results were not available.
