The Helena High boys soccer team routed Missoula Big Sky on the road Thursday 6-0, lifting coach Carl Straub to his 200th high school victory.
Helena used a balanced scoring attack with six different players shaking the net for the Bengals; Ben Ries-Roncalli, Aidan Morris, Luke Schmitz, Oliver Sprenklemeyer, Austin Dengel and Russell Wells.
Passing for the assists were Ries-Roncalli (two), Cavan Wade and Grant Ackerson.
Helena improves to 4-1-1 after the win.
Straub's 200th triumph comes in his 26th season of prep soccer, dating back to the first year the sport was sanctioned in Montana, in 1991.
He has headed up three prep programs — Bozeman, Capital and Helena — in addition to two years at Carroll College.
Straub's high school teams garnered state titles with the Bruins in 2003, and with the Bengals in 2007 and 2010.
In the Helena girls soccer game at Big Sky, Claire Benedetti tallied the lone goal, assisted by Melina Hammer. It was only Helena's fourth regular season conference loss in five years. They stand at 2-2-2.
