The Capital High Freshman Football Team finished their season undefeated (7-0) with a win over the Helena High Bengals on October 26th, 2019.

The team was led by captains Dylan Graham, Tommy Carter, Hayden Opitz, Tyler Kovick, and Tyler Roberts who all had roles on both the offense and defense.

The offense was led by a trio of quarterbacks which consisted of Hudsen Grovom, Joey Michelotti, and Jacob Brown. Their success was helped by an offensive line that includes Jackson Anderson, Paul Mousel, Luke Dowdy, Kinden Wareham and David Marshall Jr.

Dylan Graham, Nick Michelotti, and Eddie Purdin, also appreciated the hard working big men whenever they ran ball. Overall, Dylan Graham led the bruins in rushing yards and touchdowns, while Tommy Carter led the team in receiving yards. Other members of the receiving core were, Kellan McCauley, Cole Wines, Jaiden Loar, Colton Lindgren, and Jack Drynan.

Defensively, the Bruins worked around an outstanding d-line, which featured Talon Marsh, Hayden Opitz, and Tyler Roberts. Other key players were Austin Buehler, Tyler Ladd, Nick Riley, and Mayson Packard. Bruin linebackers included Tyler Kovick, Joey Lauerman, Henry Gross, Justin Bisset, Skyler Knowles, Mitchel Renk, Kinser Lyman, Wyatt Benhart, Kolton Laverdure, and Kody McLean.

A steady rotation between Cole Christensen, Ayden Smelko, Truett Ames, Dylan Chisholm, Joey Michelotti, Tommy Carter, Quinn Hanson, Tyson Mooney, Brandon Soule, and Hayden Hecker always kept the defensive backs eager to make the most of their opportunities.

The Capital High JV team finished their season last Friday with a victory over crosstown rival Helena High.

Offensively, the Bruins had different players step up each week and this was made possible by the work of the offensive line up front. This group was led by Kevin Northey, Keaton Pouliot, David Pouliot, Jamey Michelotti, Dylan Cunningham, Kaleb Pfister, Kyler Buckley, Anthony Latka, Ryan Yeske, Brayton Overton, Daniel Burgoyne, and Adam Weber.

The running game consisted of running backs Tiegan Cozzie, Carson DesRosier, Gavin Beattie, Marquis Ward, Jacob Bartow and utility player Luke Sullivan. The passing game consisted of quarterback Matt Burton, tight ends Thomas Penley and Derrick Kirkland as well as wide receivers Anthony Bouchard, Brevin Curtin, Eric Cockhill, Ben Bomgaars, Jacob Leslie, Zach Pullin and Mason Greene.

The defensive unit was made up of the defensive line: Titan Purdom, Cole Soper, Ronald “Donny” Rosenthal, Matthew Hartman, Ryan Duvall, Seamus Sullivan and Miles Goroski. The linebacking unit consisted of Rayce Neill, Chayton Winkle and David Michell. The secondary consisted of Caleb Mundt, Jarod Lilletvedt, Isaac Stanger, Tate DeTienne, Alex Brisko, Joseph Edwards, Tucker Zanto, and Sawyer Campbell. Special Teams were led by kicker Chris Meza.
