Helena High's cross country teams swept their pools at the Great Falls Invitational Meet on Friday.

The meet was divided up into three pools with three or four teams in each race.

The Helena boys won Race No. 1 against Great Falls and Big Sky with 22 points. The Bengals placed second through fifth led by Jonah Fisher with a time of 17:42.

He was followed by Clayton Ryerson (17:51), Trystan Brewer (17:59) and Zane Roush. Teammate Sam Sullivan came in eighth.

Overall, the Bengals placed second behind Bozeman, at 20-97.

On the girls side, Helena swept the top-five finishes in Race No. 1 for a perfect score of 15 points. Freshman Kylie Hartnett won the race in 20:23, ahead of runner-up Katelyn McKay in 21:16. Next came Rylie Schoenfeld (21:35), Jasmine Wilkerson and Kylee Wetzel.

Capital's girls placed runner-up in Race No. 2 at 50 points behind the fourth-place showing of Emma Rohrer-Fitzhugh with a 21:34. Lady Bruin Zoe Wall (22:20) was eighth, while Nina Bracht-Bedell took 11th.

Overall, the Helena girls placed third, while the Lady Bruins finished sixth.

The Capital boys placed third in Race No. 2 with 50 points, paced by Jesse McMurtrey's third-place finish in 17:41. Teammate Peter Lund was seventh in 18:27.
