HELENA -- Kamden Hilborn and Jamie Pickens of state champion Helena High have been selected the Class AA girls' basketball tournament co-MVPs.
Hilborn, a 5-foot-7 senior guard, and Pickens, a 6-2 junior post, led the Bengals to back-to-back state championship wins in Billings this past Saturday. Hilborn averaged 13.3 points, including 22 counters in the 53-49 win over Sentinel in the finals, and 3.4 assists during HHS' three games in the tourney. Pickens scored 16.7 ppg, with 26 in the opener versus CM Russell, and grabbed 8.3 rebounds a game.
Rounding out the girls all-tournament team were Jordyn Schweyen and Kylie Frohlich of runner-up Missoula Sentinel, third-place Bozeman's Ayla Embry and Alex Carey, Kola Bad Bear of Billings Senior, fourth-place Capital High's Taylor Sullivan and Kacie Gross, and Glacier High's Anna Schrade.
On the boys side, state champion CM Russell's Garrison Rothwell was chosen the tourney MVP. Rothwell averaged 13.3 points for the Rustlers, who defeated Bozeman 81-69 for the title.
The rest of the all-tourney team consisted of CMR's Sam Vining, Mack Anderson, Ryan Lonergan and Robbie Simpson of Bozeman, Sentinel's Sam Beighle, Connor Keickbush and Braxton Haws of fourth-place Senior, third-place Great Falls High's Kyndell Kinnett, and Rollie Worster of Hellgate.
