The Jefferson wrestling team went 2-1 in the Whitehall Duals on Friday night.
The Panthers beat Huntley Project JV 45-30, lost to Columbus-Absarokee 39-33 and beat Great Falls Central 60-9.
By finishing second in their pool they qualified for the championship bracket tomorrow.
Jefferson was led by Leo Anderson at 103 pounds (3-0 with two pins), Cody St. Clair at 126 pounds (3-0 with two pins), Eric Lufkin at 132 pounds (3-0 with one pin), Eli Reed at 138 pounds (3-0 with three pins) and Drake Schake at 182 pounds (3-0 with two pins).
The Townsend High boys basketball team lost to Melstone 63-29 on Friday night in the Three Forks tounrmanet.
Tyson Racht led the Bulldogs with 10 points. Nate Hill and Cody Graveley both added seven points.
Jefferson lost 48-40 to Twin Bridges in that tournament, while Helena lost a nonconconference road game 70-50 at Bozeman.
The Jefferson girls defeated Gardiner 58-35 in the Three Forks tournmanet, while the Townsend defeated Melston 39-34 in the tournament.
HCS boys win
The Helena Christian boys basketball team defeated Valier 70-60 in the Cascade Tip off tournament. Senior Daniel Gillian had a career game with 24 points and eight rebounds.
Junior Seth Kerttula ran the offense with six assists, and had five rebounds. The Rams play Cascade on Saturday night.
HCS girls lose
The Helena Christian girls basketball team lost to Valier 64-33 in a road game in the Cascade Tip Off Tournament. The Rams play again Saturday against Cascade.
Caitlyn Walth led the team with nine points. Jaelynne Harlan returned from surgery and scored eight points in five minutes. The 31 turnovers they committed hurt the Rams.
