The Tri-County Vigilantes (4-1) defeated the Flathead Monsters (0-5) at Washington-Grizzly Stadium recently, 24-7, in a semi-pro Rocky Mountain Football League game.
Quarterback Alex Brunett took charge of the offense, scoring the Vigilantes' first points on a 26 yard run. Helena running back Kevin Carter found the end zone on a fourth down play from 6 yards out with 36 seconds remaining in the first half to give the team a 12-0 lead at the half.
Later, Brunett connected with receivers Jake Nelson and Justin Sullivan for a pair of touchdown strikes in the third and fourth quarters. Joey Klein and Raymond Haberman led a strong defensive effort, combining for eight sacks on the night.
This Saturday, the Vigilantes return home to Tuss Field for their second showdown with Billings at 2:30 p.m.
