Five Saints won weekly Frontier Conference awards, the league announced on Monday.

The Saints volleyball team swept the weekly volleyball awards as they went on the road and earned wins over No. 14 Montana Tech and Lewis-Clark State. Senior Holly Morehouse won attack of the week, sophomore Ayla Carpenter won defender of the week and junior Rayna Pilgeram won setter of the week.

The award was Pilgeram’s fifth setter of the week award this season. Pilgeram averaged 7.5 assists, four digs and 2.3 kills per set to help the Saints earn 3-2 wins over Montana Tech and Lewis-Clark State.

Morehouse averaged three kills and 1.4 digs per set and had an attack percentage of .213. She had 14 kills when the Saints knocked off previously unbeaten Montana Tech in Butte.

Carpenter, playing as libero, averaged 5.6 digs per set and had 10 assists against Montana Tech.

Two runners also pulled in awards for Carroll.

Senior Janie Reid earned the women’s cross country runner of the week award after winning the University of Providence Open. Reid topped the field of 46 runners with a time of 18:04 in the 5K race.

Sophomore Layne Ryerson took the men’s award. Ryerson placed second in the University of Providence Open, but was the top runner out of NAIA contestants. Ryerson took second in a field of 40 runners, running a time of 25:41 on the 8K course.
