mens basketball; CC vs Western

Carroll’s Ryan Imhoff shoots two free throws after being fouled by Western in the first half on Feb. 24 in Helena. Imhoff was named the NAIA Player of the Year.

HELENA — Carroll College forward Ryan Imhoff won the NAIA's National Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

It's the first time a Saints player won the award this season.

Imhoff was selected from a pool of other conference award winners across the nation for performances from Feb. 19-25.

The senior from California helped the Saints defeat No. 19 Lewis-Clark State College and No. 10 Montana Western in Helena to close out the season with a share of the Frontier Conference title and the No. 1-seed in the Frontier Conference tournament.

Imhoff averaged 17.5 points, nine rebounds, three steals and 2.5 assists in those contests.

The Saints earned a bye in the first round of the Frontier tournament. Carroll hosts a semifinals game on Friday.
