HELENA — The Helena Brewers bid farewell to two of their All-Stars on Thursday.
The baseball team announced infielder Chad McClanahan and left-handed pitcher Wilfred Salaman were promoted to Class-A Wisconsin. Both represented the Brewers at the All-Star Game this past week.
While in Helena, McClanahan batted .301 in 49 games this season. He had 35 RBIs, eight home runs, while striking out 55 times.
McClanahan is in his third season of professional baseball. He began his career in 2016 with the Arizona League Brewers before moving to Helena in 2017 and beginning this season in Helena as well.
He focused on his hitting this season, and it’s paid off with his promotion up the minor league system.
Salaman was 4-1 as a starter with the Brewers in eight starts. He had a 2.66 ERA, allowing 35 hits, 13 earned runs while striking out 31 in 44 innings pitched.
The Brewers also announced the addition of three right-handed pitchers from the Arizona League. Caden Lemons, Michele Vassalotti and Joel Pinto.
Lemons was a second round pick of the Brewers in 2017. He brings a 1.38 ERA in five appearances in Arizona.
Vassalotti made seven appearances in Arizona, three starts and posted a 3.21 ERA. He had 19 strikeouts, eight walks and 10 earned runs allowed in his 28 innings pitched.
Pinto (1-2) pitched in seven games, three starts and recorded a 4.07 ERA. He pitched 24.1 innings, allowing 25 hits, 11 earned runs, while striking out 21 and walking six.
