The Helena Senators defeated the Missoula Mavericks 8-1 in a Class AA American Legion baseball game Wednesday night at Kindrick Legion Field.

They Senators pounded out 11 hits and used a three-run fourth inning and four-run fifth inning to seal the win.

Chase Nielson led the offense with three hits and two runs scored, while Matt Krieger and Brady Anderson had two hits each. Zach Spiroff also scored twice.

Cy Miller threw seven strong innings to pick up the win. He struck out four batters and worked around three hits and three walks.

Helena plays again at 7 p.m. today at home when the Butte Miners come come to town. The Senators also play a doubleheader Sunday at home against Bitterroot.
