The months of August, September and October are the time when songbirds begin to fly south to warmer climates and more available food. Many songbirds only fly to southern states like Arizona, others migrate to Central America and still others migrate deep into South America to the lowest parts of Argentina. The farthest south I have birded in the Western Hemisphere is the northeast quarter of Ecuador. I did that in February 2016 and I saw many birds I was familiar with as summer breeders here in the Upper Clark Fork valley.

Although this episode doesn't track chronologically within the show's universe, it is an interesting look at how the various friends accept aging. Joey worries about mortality while Phoebe learns her complicated family circumstances led her to believe she's younger than she thought. Rachel uses the opportunity to break up with a younger guy (Eddie Cahill's Tag) when she decides she wants someone more mature.

While this winter so far has given Montana plenty of snow and cold, the weather in March and April will determine to a large extent the mortality of animals like deer and antelope in northcentral Montana.
