Montana State Fund is looking for a Software engineer III (advanced) to join the Enterprise Applications team. This position independently and interdependently analyzes and code complex technical solutions, applying principles of software engineering to the design, development, maintenance, testing and evaluation of the enterprise software and systems. In addition, the successful candidate will provide technical leadership for highly complex data warehouse and business intelligence or insurance applications and projects, as well as, interact with enterprise users. Provides technical leadership for highly complex applications; defines, analyzes and creates software solutions for projects utilizing IT systems development methodology. Leads technical project teams in developing the solution design, assigns technical tasks to project teams, tracks progress, verifying completion of programming assignments according to program standards and reporting regularly. In addition, the successful candidate will engage with end users to clarify requirements as needed to complete Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence projects, Develop code holistically that can be easily maintained/reused/tested by others, by adhering to coding standards and including detailed code documentation. This position works with QA personnel to develop and carry out test plans to ensure that the solutions are of the highest possible quality and designs logical/physical database models to support present/future Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence needs; develops database triggers and Structured Query Language (SQL) queries needed inside the Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) jobs. Develops clear, detailed technical and user documentation that will facilitate support and maintenance of Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence solutions. Designs and Constructs the extract/transform, transfer and audit components of a data warehousing system or data conversion programs using development tools or custom developed procedures. Defines and manages the data load procedures; facilitates the change data capture (CDC) process. In addition, the successful candidate will analyze requirements for Big Data Analytics, develops data pipelines, defines data integration patterns for each Analytics use case, determines join keys for disparate data sets and implements metadata management.
