In his blog Big Sky Words, Helena native Greg Strandberg wrote on December 1, 2014, that he believed Jenny Eck would soon move to Australia. Greg wrote about Eck's trip to Australia to learn about government. The taxpayer paid trip was facilitated by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the US Department of State. Eck is from Arlington Virginia, which is close to Washington D.C.. She graduated from a woman's college in Northampton Massachusetts (Smith College). Is Greg a predictor of the future, or does he understand the wanderlust of Eck? Or is it Greg knows that Eck will take advantage of every taxpayer sponsored opportunity?
"Instead of trying to understand why the staff feels that way, many on social media accused local educators of being lazy, entitled and scared."
Well stated. And it is noted that it would be a rare event that a single one of these naysayers would ever sign up to be a substitute teacher, let alone go through the process of obtaining a teaching license to get the job they see as so soft and well-paid.
