A Poplar man who died on Thanksgiving Day after a car crash south of Circle has been identified as Edward Benevick Red, according to the McCone County Sheriff.
Red, 49, was also known by the name Edward Redwolf, Harris said. He died Nov. 22 at Glendive Medical Center due to injuries sustained in the single-vehicle crash.
Red had been driving on Highway 200 near Dry Ash Creek Road when his passenger car appeared to have driven off the right side of the road, hit a traffic post and a culvert pipe before coming to a rest about 60 feet from the pipe, according to the crash narrative provided by the Montana Highway Patrol.
He was the only person in the car at the time, and was not wearing his seat belt, according to MHP.
