Looking at the various comments show how divided we are as a country, or in this case, a community. And that is at the heart of the problem. I'd like to say Religion is the answer, but I see and read evangelicals promoting the same things using the same words, rather than the word of the Lord. That has to change if this is to survive.
how will religion unite people when there are so many conflicting religous viewspoints and ideologies and christians denounce thoseview points that dont align with theirs for the most part?

Odd that the media and others are outraged at the demonstrations and violence of the Trump supporters, but have taken the attitude of support or "boys will be boys" for the riots, looting, and burning of BLM and Antifa in various cities. Personally, I am saddened and disgusted by the actions on both sides. Speaking out should be encouraged, but this destructive and dangerous mob behavior should be swiftly and severely punished. Arrests and trials need to occur. Those found guilty of sedition should be tried and sentenced. Obviously many violations of 18 USC Section 2385 occurred today at our nation's capitol. Punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
