Veteran's health care in Montana has a new leader.
Judy Hayman is the new director of the VA Montana Healthcare System. She is expected to arrive in Montana within the next two months to assume her duties and leadership of more than 1,200 staff members at 17 different health care facilities.
Hayman was previously employed with the VA in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and at the VA Syracuse Medical Center, New York.
Hayman, who holds a doctorate in clinical psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, is taking over the biggest square mileage of veteran health care coverage in the lower 48 states.
She replaces Kathy Berger, previous director of the Montana VA. Berger served for over two years at Fort Harrison as the leader of the state's veteran health care services before heading to direct the Chillicothe VA Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. The move put her closer to family.
