Lt. Brett Petty with the Helena Police Department said both police and the fire department had quite a few reports of downed trees. None were blocking major arteries, he said, although some trees that blew over had reportedly damaged vehicles.

The storm also knocked out power in several areas, although most outages were short-lived. NorthWestern expected to restore power by 6:30 p.m. for an outage near Walmart affecting about 700 customers.
