An 18-year-old Twin Bridges man is accused of raping a 14-year-old girl in Helena.

Tanis Rain Williams is charged with felony counts of sexual intercourse without consent and sexual abuse of children.

On Jan. 21, 2018, Helena Police officers responded to a report that an 18-year-old man had sex with an underage girl. The officers spoke with a family member of the alleged victim who said Williams had raped his daughter. According to the family member, Williams had called about a week before and told him, "I did not rape your daughter," but did not explain why he made the statement.

On Jan. 26 the alleged victim underwent a forensic interview and told the interviewer Williams had physically forced her to comply with his desires, including sexual acts and sending images to him. The girl said she complied because she was afraid Williams would hurt her and said it was like "living in hell."
