Sheriff identifies homicide victim from Helena

Shane White, 56, of Helena, has been identified as the homicide victim found in the Cave Gulch area near Canyon Ferry Lake Wednesday. 

Lewis and Clark County Sheriff/Coroner Leo Dutton said the man died of blunt force trauma and sharp force injuries. The manner of death has been determined to be homicide. 

Dutton said detectives have identified "persons of interest" in the case.

"On the basis of the investigation, the Sheriff's Office does not feel there is a threat to the community," the sheriff's office said in a press release. 

The investigation is ongoing.
