No charges are warranted in a crash that killed a pedestrian Oct. 19 in Helena, authorities announced Friday.
The Lewis and Clark County Attorney's Office and Helena City Attorney's Office both came to the same conclusion after reviewing the Helena Police Department's investigation.
Tracy Lee Simmons, 39, of Helena, was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Prospect Avenue and Cook Street. The driver, a 24-year-old Billings resident, immediately called 911.
Simmons was transported to St. Peter's Health for treatment and was later airlifted to Benefis Hospital in Great Falls, where she was pronounced dead two days after the crash. Lewis and Clark County Coroner Bryan Backeberg said the cause of death was "multiple blunt force injuries."
