  • At 6:28 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 200 block of 6th Avenue for a report of an assault. Investigation into the matter led to two people being arrested. A 33-year-old female was placed under arrest for assault with a weapon. A 30-year-old male was placed under arrest for an outstanding Helena District Court warrant and a no contact order violation. They were booked into the LCSO Jail.
  • At 9:23 a.m., an officer took a report of a juvenile in possession of a vape device. Investigation into the matter led to a 15-year-old male being issued a citation for minor in possession of tobacco. He was referred to Helena Municipal Court.
  • At 10:29 a.m., an officer took a report of a juvenile in possession of a drugs and drug paraphernalia. Investigation into the matter led to a 16-year-old male being issued citations for possession of dangerous drugs (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia (glass pipe). He was referred to Juvenile Probation.
  • At 2:45 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 900 block of Oregon Street for a report of an assault. Investigation into the matter led to a 42-year-old male being issued a citation for two counts of misdemeanor assault. He was referred to Helena Municipal Court.

The Helena Police Department responded to 61 calls for service including: seven noninjury crashes, two animal calls, two assault calls, six disorderly/disturbance calls, four suspicious incidents, five reported thefts and six welfare checks.

As of Tuesday morning, the county jail held 105 inmates (96 for felonies and nine for misdemeanors). In total, the county has 118 inmates at various detention facilities. Eighty-two clients are serviced by the 24/7 sobriety program. Of these, 54 are on PBT (Personal Breath Test), 15 are on SCRAM (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor bracelet), six are on GPS and seven are on house arrest. Pretrial Services is currently working with 350 clients.
