  • At 9:08 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 500 block of Logan Street for a report of a fraud. Investigation into the matter led to a 44-year-old male being placed under arrest for an outstanding arrest warrant out of Helena Justice Court. He was booked into the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center.
  • At 10:39 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Rodney Street for a report of a male at this location that had a warrant. Investigation into the matter led to a 33-year-old male being placed under arrest for an outstanding arrest warrant out of Great Falls. He was booked into the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center.
  • At 11:43 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the area of 6th Avenue and Jackson Street for a report of an assault. Investigation into the matter led to a 19-year-old male being placed under arrest for an outstanding arrest warrant out of Yellowstone County. He was booked into the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center.

July 17

  • At 12:18 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation in the area of 11th Avenue and Idaho Street Investigation into the traffic stop led to a 19-year-old male being placed under arrest for four outstanding arrest warrants and driving suspended. He was booked into the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center.

On Tuesday, the Helena Police Department responded to 72 calls for service. A brief summary of some of the calls the officers responded to are as follows: two non-injury accident, one injury accident, nine animal calls, four criminal mischief calls, two disorderly person calls, three disturbance calls, three suspicious incidents, four thefts and nine welfare checks. Of those welfare checks, three of the checks resulted in the individuals being transported to the hospital for an emergency mental health evaluation.

As of Wednesday morning, the county jail held 109 inmates (95 for felonies and 14 for misdemeanors). In total, the county has 119 inmates at various detention facilities. One hundred clients are serviced by the 24/7 sobriety program. Of these, 61 are on Personal Breath Test, 29 are on Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor bracelet, three are on GPS, and seven are on house arrest. Pretrial Services is currently working with 300 clients.
