  • At 12:23 a.m. an officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle that failed to pull over. The vehicle drove to an address on the 1800 block of Easy Street before stopping. The officer made contact with the female driver and detained her. She demonstrated signs of impairment and was tested for DUI. At the conclusion of the investigation, the 32–year-old Helena woman was arrested for DUI, obstructing a police officer, and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. She was booked into the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center.

The Helena Police Department responded to 148 calls for service. Of those calls, they responded to 10 vehicle crashes, six disorderly calls, eight animal calls, five theft calls, seven welfare checks, 15 suspicious circumstance calls, and conducted 51 traffic stops.

As of Thursday morning, the county jail held 83 inmates (77 for felonies and six for misdemeanors). In total, the county has 92 inmates at various detention facilities. There are 95 clients currently being serviced by the 24/7 sobriety program. Of these, 49 are on PBT (Personal Breath Test), 32 are on SCRAM (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor bracelet), three are on GPS and 11 are on house arrest. Pretrial Services is currently working with 293 clients.
