  • At 12:30 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Helena Avenue and Rodney Street. Contact was made with the male driver, who demonstrated signs of impairment. At the conclusion of the investigation, the 27-year-old Helena man was arrested for DUI. He was booked into the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center.
  • At 1:20 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Park and Placer avenues. Contact was made with the male driver, who demonstrated signs of impairment. At the conclusion of the investigation, the 30-year-old Helena man was arrested for his third DUI, aggravated DUI and expired registration. He was booked into the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center.
  • At 1:37 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 15 near mile marker 194. Contact was made with the male driver, who demonstrated signs of impairment. At the conclusion of the investigation, the 26-year-old Helena man was arrested for his second DUI and aggravated DUI. He was booked into the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center.
  • At 1:49 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Lawrence Avenue and Cruse Street. Contact was made with the male driver, who demonstrated signs of impairment. At the conclusion of the investigation, the 23-year-old Helena man was arrested for DUI. He was booked into the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center.
  • At 6:41 a.m., an officer responded to the 800 block of Oregon Street for a report of a male passed out in a vehicle. The male was located; he demonstrated signs of impairment. At the conclusion of the investigation, the 26-year-old Helena man was arrested for his second DUI and aggravated DUI. He was booked into the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center.
  • At 9:44 a.m., an officer responded to the 200 block of Obsidian Avenue for a report of a burglary to a residence.

The Helena Police Department responded to 48 calls for service. Of those calls, they responded to one vehicle crash, seven welfare checks, one trespassing complaint and four suspicious circumstance calls.

As of Monday morning, the county jail held 95 inmates (88 for felonies and seven for misdemeanors). In total, the county has 108 inmates at various detention facilities. There are 102 clients serviced by the 24/7 sobriety program. Of these, 53 are on Personal Breath Test, 31 are on Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor bracelet, four are on GPS and 14 are on house arrest. Pretrial Services is currently working with 293 clients.
