Robocall phone scam

The Helena Police Department is warning residents about a new scam involving false information about Social Security numbers.

Lt. Jayson Zander said multiple Helena residents had received a phone call that says their Social Security number has been suspended "due to suspicious activity." The person is then prompted to push "1" to find out more information.

Zander said police want to let residents know this is a scam and not an actual call from the Social Security Administration.

If you are concerned about your Social Security number being compromised, visit the local Social Security Administration office at 10 W 15th Street #1600 or call 1-800-772-1213.
