Helena man accused of cutting woman with knife, strangling her multiple times

Charge: Felony strangulation of a partner or family member, felony assault with a weapon.

Verdict: All dismissed by court.

Sentence: None.

A 26-year-old Helena man is accused of strangling a woman and cutting her with a knife.

Austin Ray Natalie-Lopuch is being charged with felony counts of strangulation of a partner or family member and assault with a weapon.

On Nov. 11, officers responded to a call about a disturbance involving Natalie-Lopuch. According to court documents, Natalie-Lopuch and the victim had been in an argument when Natalie-Lopuch grabbed the victim by the neck, choking the woman to the point of passing out. 

Natalie-Lopuch then allegedly stopped the victim from leaving, grabbing a knife and cutting the woman on the leg with it before he again grabbed the victim by the throat and started squeezing.

Natalie-Lopuch was arrested and taken to the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center.

All charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty
