Helena man accused of having imitation meth
A 35-year-old Helena man is accused of possessing fake methamphetamine and intending to sell it.
Douglas William Smith is charged with felony criminal possession of imitation dangerous drugs with intent to distribute and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Helena police say they located Smith Thursday on suspicion of having an outstanding warrant. The owner of the vehicle Smith was driving and probation officers requested that the vehicle be searched, according to court documents.
Officers allege that they found imitation meth, glass pipes, syringes and a silver scale during the search, court documents say.
All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
East Helena man charged with meth possession
A 33-year-old East Helena man is accused of possessing meth.
Chad Edward Cole is charged with felony possession of dangerous drugs.
Helena police pulled over Cole Thursday on suspicion of a license plate light infraction. He was then identified and arrested on a warrant, according to court documents.
During a search of his vehicle, officers allegedly found a baggie containing a white crystal substance that Cole admitted was meth, court documents say.
All charged are considered innocent until proven guilty.
