A 38-year-old East Helena man is accused of threatening to kill a woman with a knife.

Abel Scott Deluna is charged with a felony count of assault with a weapon for allegedly causing reasonable apprehension of serious bodily injury.

Lewis and Clark County deputies were called to a home on Wylie Drive for a report of a physical altercation Thursday. Court documents say they found Deluna standing in the entryway and asked him to step outside, but he refused and then closed the door.

The door was locked but a child opened it for the deputies, and they found another child crying in the living room. One of the children told the deputies Deluna pointed a knife at the woman and threatened to slice her throat, according to court documents.

Deluna admitted to pointing a knife at the victim to scare her but said he wasn't going to kill her, court documents say. He was arrested and transported to the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center.
