I support the Governor's bill to expand Medicaid. It helps hold down the price of health insurance, and expands health care access to 70,000 lives.
If you make $60,000 a year or less and cover your family with health insurance, your premium is most likely greater than all the taxes you pay -- federal, state, social security and Medicare -- combined. Combined! For people making less than $40,000 a year, a family gives up almost a third of their compensation to health insurance. Help people out. The expansion of Medicaid is overdue and everyone who carries health insurance will benefit with more stable premiums. Seventy thousand lives could really use the help.
