This is in response to Justin Fifield’s letter on May 26 complaining that Montana Legal Services Association does not represent men in family law cases. This charge is not true.
Since 2001, I have handled four family law cases for fathers through MLSA on a pro bono basis, some entailing many hours of legal work. (But at present I’m not accepting any new cases.) The demand for pro bono legal services far exceeds the supply, but MLSA is an essential institution if “and justice for all” is not to be mere words.
