An East Helena woman died in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning at the intersection of Canyon Ferry Road near Wylie Drive.

The Lewis and Clark County Coroner said 71-year-old June A. White died at the scene of the crash.

The Montana Highway Patrol said White was westbound at around 11 a.m. on Canyon Ferry Road when her 2000 Toyota Sienna crossed the center turn lane and entered eastbound traffic. White drove to the shoulder of the road, up over the curb and crashed into a 2007 Chevy truck driven by a 59-year-old man who, upon observing the vehicle, had moved to the right side of the eastbound shoulder and curb.

MHP said White wasn't wearing her seat belt. The man was wearing his seat belt but suffered injuries and was transported to St. Peter’s Hospital, said MHP, which declined to provide his name.

The coroner said White was trapped and had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Eastgate and East Valley Fire departments. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed Thursday.

MHP said alcohol, speed and ice were not factors in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
