Crash

A Helena teen died in a crash Saturday at the intersection of Prospect Avenue and Carter Drive on the east side of Helena.

Austin McKittrick has been identified as the 19-year-old Helena man who died in a crash Saturday morning on the east side of Helena.

McKittrick died from multiple blunt force injuries, Lewis and Clark County Sheriff/Coroner Leo Dutton said.

The crash occurred around 6:45 a.m. near the intersection of Prospect Avenue and Carter Drive, the Helena Police Department reported.

McKittrick was headed west when the Honda Accord he was driving collided with a semitruck driven by a 65-year-old Helena man, who was attempting to make a left turn from Prospect Avenue onto Carter Drive.

No other injuries were reported, and nobody else was involved.

Officials believe speed was a factor.

The investigation is continuing, and no citations have been issued.
