Community members cheer as a parade of volunteers enters Bryant Elementary School Wednesday to kick off this year's Kid Pack Challenge Fundraiser. The volunteers brought donated food from the Food Share to the school for use in the supplemental food packs distributed each Friday to 1,100 children at risk of hunger. The program costs $175,000, and First Interstate Bank of Helena President Brenden Craig presented a $29,000 check and promised to match up to $2,500 more in donations made during the event. Kid Packs include nutritious, kid-friendly food items such as oatmeal, ravioli, low-sugar fruit cups and granola bars.
