After being evacuated from a forest fire, he joined a local volunteer fire department. When he retired from the FAA, he was licensed as an Emergency Medical Technician and served his local community as an EMT and Fire Chief until retiring from the fire service.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cynthia Mack Webb and their daughter, Kelli Lyn Webb.

He endured a twenty-year battle with cancer with courage, never giving in to despair. All his life, his first thought was for his family, and we were privileged to be in his care.
