Shari Surman Redfern, our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, August 31, 2019.
Shari’s family was her life, she was totally devoted to them. She loved every one of them and they loved her. Grama Shari was always available for whoever needed her. Her loss has left a huge hole in our hearts and she will be greatly missed. We have many many great memories to be cherished. We are grateful that she is now at peace and look forward to seeing her again.
Shari was born January 24, 1939 to Steve and Margaret Surman in Helena, MT. She married the love of her life, Jay Clayton Redfern, on October 4, 1958. Married 61 years, Shari and Jay had 4 children, 10 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. She loved to spend time with her family, especially camping and getting together for the holidays. Christmas was her favorite. She loved to give and always thought of others before herself.
Shari worked for Union Bank, Helena Letter Shop, Super Save Drug and Norwest. She retired January 24, 2001 from Wells Fargo (Formerly Norwest).
Shari is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Jay Redfern, sister, Sandra (Jim) Gross. Children: Randy Redfern (Deanna Shirek), Ron Redfern, Roberta (Jeff) Hurni, Rachel (Dan) Peterson, Shirley (Dwayne) Miller.
Grandchildren: Jeremy (Michelle) Redfern, Tjaden (Nicole) Redfern, Christopher McDermott, Steve Redfern, Melinda Redfern, Corey Hurni, Bryan Hurni (Kayla Bruno), Elizabeth Hurni, Michael Peterson (Kaitlin Woody), Ryan Peterson.
Great Grandchildren: Hunter Redfern, Hannah South, Mariah Redfern, Taylor Redfern, Terrin Redfern, Samuel Redfern, Addison Redfern, Kendall Redfern, Sydney Redfern, Avery Redfern, Jocie Montgomery-Hurni, Wiley Hurni, Dekker Hurni, Carson Hurni, Dillon Redfern, Jaxan Peterson and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, please make donations to Shari’s favorite charity, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
