BUTTE -- Madison County Sheriff Roger Thompson reports an accident with injury resulted in a motorcyclist being airlifted to Billings for head trauma Sunday early afternoon.
The motorcycle driver was traveling east on Montana Highway 287 in Ennis at about 11:40 a.m. Sunday when he collided with a car. The driver of the car pulled out from Slade Street to go west onto Montana Highway 287. The motorcycle driver hit the front of the car and was thrown onto the roadway. He was not wearing a helmet, Thompson reports.
The motorcycle driver remained conscious, and both drivers were taken to Madison Valley Hospital. But due to the motorcycle driver's head trauma, he was airlifted to a Billings hospital.
Police believe alcohol was not a factor. The accident is still under investigation.
