Two children listed as missing and endangered last week were found safe Saturday evening.
Officers responded to the 2000 block of Prospect Avenue shortly after 5 p.m. for a report that two missing children, Alex Kafman, 20 months, and Krystl Kaufman, 7 months, from Helena were at that location, according to the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff's Office.
Upon arrival, officers located the children, who were reported missing Tuesday, in a vehicle. At the conclusion of the incident, Shala Hood, 30, of Helena, was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant for custodial interference. Lonny Kaufman, 44, of Helena, was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and a charge of felony obstruction of justice. Both were booked into the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center.
Montana Child and Family Services responded and took custody of the children.
