The pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday night at the intersection of McHugh Drive and Road Runner Street has been identified, Helena police say.
The Helena Police Department on Sunday identified the woman as Dixie Hargreaves.
The 77-year-old Helena woman was hit by a 1999 Oldsmobile passenger vehicle just before 8 p.m., the Helena Police Department reported on Friday.
She was transported to St. Peter's Health, where she later died.
The Lewis and Clark County Coroner's office said Hargreaves died from multiple blunt force injuries.
Hargreaves and two other pedestrians were crossing McHugh Drive eastbound when she was struck.
The vehicle was driven by a 37-year-old Helena woman headed northbound on McHugh. No citations have been issued and the investigation is ongoing.
The intersection was closed for about two hours during the initial investigation on Friday evening.
Helena Police Assistant Chief Steve Hagen said Sunday that the investigation and a decision on whether citations will be issued will likely take some time.
