A professionally produced video advocating for harmony among user groups on public trails features three Helena residents enjoying the South Hills Trail System in different ways.
The video released on YouTube this week shows Helena residents Britany Hoover jogging, Tom Pedersen hiking and John Doran riding a mountain bike to the same peak overlooking the Helena Valley. The words "Our trails unite us" flash across the screen at the end.

Doran said he and digital production company SOVRN Creative spearheaded the production of the video "as a way to bridge a divide that has grown in our community between trail user groups."
Earlier this year, local hiking group Helena Hikes issued a letter questioning whether the South Hills Trail System is an appropriate venue for high-speed mountain biking, citing concerns about safety and trail damage.
The city of Helena is currently in the process of updating its Open Lands Recreation Plan.
