Helena Community Credit Union has changed its name to Intrepid Credit Union. Transitions to the new name began in the end of November and were completed early December.
“Intrepid, the word, means bold, fearless, adventurous,” said Sara Groves, director of marketing for the credit union. “We feel that embodies the spirit of Montana and Montanans. We want to help people achieve their goals.”
The change came about because the credit union is opening locations outside of Helena. A new branch is under construction in Bozeman and will open in February.
Only the name and logo have changed. This is not the result of a merger or acquisition, simply a way to embrace more areas in the state, according to Groves.
The Intrepid building on Prospect has been completely remodeled and reopened this month with all new signage and branding.
“Visitors will find it to be more welcoming and very interactive,” Groves said. “More member interaction is important, as well as being active in the community.”
With the name change comes a membership drive. For every new member who joins now until the end of March, the credit union will donate $25 to a local non-profit.
“We are excited to serve existing members and reach out to new members,” Groves said.
Intrepid Credit Union has three Helena branches serving customer and two operation centers.
